Heritage Work
Historyworks' heritage specialist has a solid grounding of over 25 years' experience in heritage work. We can research and produce histories of buildings, sites, collections and objects. We can produce heritage reports, assessments, conservation plans and heritage studies, linking up with, or project-managing other heritage specialists as necessary. We are fully versed in conservation practice and the special requirements of heritage history.
Historyworks continues to undertake large numbers of heritage reports and property histories and provide design advice on historic houses, commercial premises and infrastructure in New South Wales. The most popular product is a Heritage Impact Report which many property-owners in Australia are required to provide to local planning authorities when they propose to alter or develop properties which are heritage listed or in conservation areas. Our reports are prepared in a standard format laid down by the New South Wales Heritage Office, with an additional section on Conservation Policy to guide owners on the appropriate management of their heritage properties. Our advice is that clients should approach us at design stage so that we can advise whether the proposal is likely to be compatible with heritage considerations and therefore likely to be approved by the planning authority.
